Pinus cf. sylvestris, two bags most likely same timber (beam or post ~15-20cm diameter). Samples contain multiple fragments perfect for dendroecology and stable isotope analysis. Multiple fragments have 40+ rings, may be insufficient for dendrochronology but suitable for wiggle-matching. Fragments house a remarkable archive of 40+ years of ecological data related to a key period and should be utilised for comparison to the waterlogged wood from the tunnel chamber.
