Layer Locus:7685:116 is located below layer Locus:7685:115 .

The soil is not homogeneous. In proximity to the northern edge of Locus:7685:116 , i.e. adjacent to layer Locus:7685:125 / Locus:7685:119 / Locus:7685:089 , the earth becomes very moist, almost muddy. The color of the material is yellowish-grey. The color and moist character of the soil lead to the conclusion that the southern part of layer Locus:7685:125 continues down into layer Locus:7685:116 .

The rest of Locus:7685:116 , i.e. towards the south is loose and more dry in character. The color of the material is yellowish-grey. Found were a good many pieces of chalk, charcoal fragments and a large quantity of animal bone.
A characteristic feature of Locus:7685:116 is the finding of, what may be described as, sand or gravel-like particles, i.e. many very small (or tiny) stones. Although previously noted in conjunction with earlier other loci (e.g. layer Locus:7685:115 and Locus:7685:108 ), the relative increase in sand or gravel-like particles - in Locus:7685:116 - is definitely noteworthy.

Three intact miniature cups are lying on the surface (up-side-down) (Fund:7685:116:003 , Fund:7685:116:004 and Fund:785:116:006 ).
