Pit Locus:7685:055 is located directly beneath tomb Locus:7685:008 - in the southeast corner of the excavated area.
The color of the soil is greyish-brown. Its consistency is loose. The soil contains small pieces of (burnt) mud-brick and small to medium-sized stones. Pottery and animal bone were not very abundantly represented. Some of the bones collected might turn out to be human and could still belong to the skeleton found in tomb Locus:7685:008 excavated last year (2010).
An in-between level or the bottom of the pit is marked by a group of stones and a piece of flat-lying pottery. This level was assigned a new locus number (i.e. Locus:7685:056 ).
