Tomb Locus:7685:040 is located south of tile grave Locus:7685:035 . Locus:7685:040 appears to have disturbed Locus:7685:035 .
The tomb is oriented southeast-northwest. It contains one inhumed individual.
The tomb-type differs from all other types previously excavated at the Böyük Hüyük. It seems to be an earth cut tomb.
Based on the stratigraphical relation between Locus:7685:035 and Locus:7685:040 , the latter should post-date the 4th-6th century AD, i.e. the tentative date assigned to the excavated tile graves (e.g. Locus:7685:006 and Locus:7685:007 ).

From final report excavation unit 7685 (NA):
"Im Locus 40 (Grab) wurde ein Individuum gefunden, Grab mit südwestlich-nordöstlicher Ausrichtung gefunden. Das Skelett ist bis auf die Füße vollständig erhalten. Der Körper ist gestreckt, der Kopf im Westen gelegen und die Arme sind im rechten Winkel vor dem Körper verschränkt. Die Gesichtspartie ist zerdrückt und die Schädeldecke mehrfach gebrochen. Außerdem weist das Skelett im Brustbeinbereich eine eigenartige, breite, flache Knochenfläche auf (Brustbein?), an der eine Rippe ansetzt. "
