Kontext 7685:137 (Ablagerung: Deposit below layer Locus:7685:113)

Layer Locus:7685:137 is located below layer Locus:7685:135 .

The top of the deposit is marked by differently-sized pieces (small-large) of mostly unburnt mud-bricks (see Zusatzbilder). Wall lines and/or other potential mud-brick features, however, could not be discerned.

Layer Locus:7685:137 runs below wall Locus:7685:038 (west), wall Locus:7685:080 (east) and wall Locus:7685:083 (south) , i.e. it pre-dates the construction of these walls.

The color of the soil is greenish-brown. The material is mixed containing lots of very small (differently-colored) stones (sand?), a good amount of pottery and a sizeable number of fragments of animal bone.

The bottom of layer Locus:7685:137 is marked by a large number of flat-lying potsherds.

Small finds include a shallow dish (Fund:7685:137:003 ) and a miniature cup (Fund:7685:137:004 ).

Near the southern end of layer Locus:7685:137 the soil becomes more hard. Moreover, a large blackish surface/layer is discernable in the southeast corner of layer Locus:7685:137 . One possibility is that the hard material need be identified as an unburnt mud-brick wall and the black material as a fill having piled up against it.
