This locus is defined by being the layers under the yellowish line in the profile. It was decided to take these layers together instead of taking it layer by layer.
This was a matter of gain versus workload. And since it is so mixed and it has no clear sign of getting clearer, the gain from the extra work would be close to nothing.
The fill is dense with reddish clayish soil, and burned mudbricks. In between a little ceramic occur and there are patches of brownish looser soil (more "pit like" filling). Animal bones were also found in here, specially mammal teeth are common.
The bottom 30 cm of the pit is way more regular and homogeneous. Almost no mudbricks, though animal bones and ceramic still appear.
At height 284.04 a "stamped muddy-sticky" layer appeared in variating colours.
The reason for the measurements on this locus is variating a lot in the N-S compared to Locus:7685:178 and Locus:7685:179 is that the lower layer that this is, is connected to the previously unexcavated area from Locus:7685:033 that is part of the pit.
