The locus consists primarily of relatively soft, coarse, clayish soil with a grey-brown colouring that contains many inclusions. In parts the soil was situated above a hard, flat layer; in that case the soil came off very easily in clumps. In the western part the this layer was not present and the locus was immediately on top of a very coarse, reddish layer, in which case the difference between the locus and the underlying layer was less clearly defined and apparent primarily in the change of colour.
Three buckets of flotation samples were taken.
